Description mogliii 2011-11-21 20:45:44 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

The session is not locked if suspend event happens while in open window overview (upper right click in Plasma Netbook). This is a major security issue, as a suspended computer can end up in a state which allows unauthorized access.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Activate powerprofile that will put computer into sleep on inactivity, and activate "Lock screen on resume" in power options.
- Activate open window overview (click upper right).
- Wait until computer suspend to ram.
- Wake computer up from suspend to ram.

Actual Results:
The computer wakes up from suspend to ram with unlocked session.

Expected Results:
According to power settings, password prompt should appear.

The key combination "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "L" (lock screen) also does not work in the open window overview. But that should probably go into a separate bug report.

the locking mechanism has been rewritten for 4.8 and kwin is now aware of locking.
