Version: 2.4-snapshots (using KDE 4.7.3) OS: Linux In 'Configure-Misc' there's no 'pixels/px' option. In fact, there's no way to give Karbon a measure in pixels, you have to convert it by yourself to the measurement you're working on (cm, pt, whatever). I think it's not necessary to say why it's very important handle measurements in pixels in a vector drawing. Maybe would be cool if you give an option to give measurements in percentages, like in Inkscape. Also, in 'Geometry' dock you can't give another measurement unit except the measurement you're working. For example, if you're working with 'cm' and you need to give a measurement in inches, you can't unless you convert the measurement by yourself to centimeters. Finally, it's totally annoying the fact you have to go to 'Settings->Configure Karbon->Misc' to change the unit of measurement you need. Would be better (and usable) if you could change the measurement unit for the actual document in the 'Geometry' section in 'Tool options' dock. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Karbon, 2. Draw any figure, let's say a box. 3. In 'Tool options->Geometry' try giving a measurement for any option (x-axis, y-axis, width or height) in another measurement unit (for example, if you're working with picas and you want to give the width measurement in inches, try writing in the width entry '5 in'). Actual Results: Karbon will not allow another text typing unless numbers. No auto-measurement unit conversion. Expected Results: Karbon allows typing of measurements in any format of supported measurement units (picas, ciceros, inches, milimeteres, centimeters... I hope pixels and percentages too) in the format they appear in (5 pi, 32 cc, 34 mm, 2,5 mm, 64 px, 55 %) and eventually will convert the given measure to the measure unit you're working with the actual document. Sorry for my bad english.
Sounds like a useful improvement. Thanks for the bug report
This looks like duplicate of (or at least very close to) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312739
(In reply to comment #2) > This looks like duplicate of (or at least very close to) > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312739 Well, I reported it first so I don't get how this is a duplicate... However, it's been more than a year and I haven't seen any good answer to this.
Yes sure, I just wanted to say both bugs are about the same problem, and found description of the other more global about the problem, with reference to svg spec... I didn't check which report was older.
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
This is still present, Karbon has no pixel units in its preferences.
