Description Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli 2011-11-16 10:59:08 UTC
Version:           1.0.80 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS:                Linux

Sometimes, kopete decides that the desktop is offline when i launch it, so it won't automatically go online.
This behavior occurs randomly but often.

if i launch solid-network query:
$ solid-network query status
networking: is enabled

Despite that, closing and opening kopete again, it will still claim that the desktop is offline.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
open kopete

Expected Results:
autoconnct

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.1.0-1-amd64
Compiler: gcc

If you use wicd you will need to upgrade to KDE SC 4.7.2 for it to work.

There are two ways to query network status in KDE. The first one is using Solid's API, which is the one solid-network uses. This one supports NetworkManager and Wicd for a long time.

The second one is using kded's networkstatus module, which is the one most KDE programs use, including Kopete. Until KDE SC 4.7.2 networkstatus module supported only NetworkManager and ntrack (only if it was installed when kde-runtime was compiled).
