Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3) OS: Linux I have started from scratch a kmail configuration where I have two accounts: - Local folders pointing to the default ~/.local/share/local-mail - POP3 account (the destination folder is inbox inside "Local folders") I imported an old kmail maildir archive with all my old emails following the import procedure. All the old emails are now visible in the folder KMail-Import under "Local folders" while all new emails downloaded from the POP3 server are visible into the inbox folder. The problem is that old emails have not been copied into the local folder hierarchy (~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory) by the import procedure, I can see only the new emails download from the POP3 account. I guess the data is only stored in the backup folder where I imported from but the akonadi caching mechanism shows the emails as if they were in the local folder but this is not the case! This is a weird problem because the user could delete the old data folder thinking everything is safely stored in the new location. What happens if the akonadi database gets corrupted? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Import some maildir data Actual Results: the emails are imported but the data is not copied into the Local Folders Expected Results: the emails should be copied into the Local Folders hierarchy
Same problem for me on openSUSE 12.1
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
