Version: SVN (using KDE 4.7.2) OS: Linux Kopete automatically strips indentation when I paste a small chunk of Python code to send to a contact. This is quite annoying, I don't really see why you would want to strip indentation when a user pastes a block of text to send to someone. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Paste a small block of code with indentation, send it to a user Actual Results: all indentation is stripped Expected Results: text should be sent as-is, as the user sent it, without modification, or the user should have the option to at least turn this behaviour off in the Kopete preferences if they don't like it.
I know this bug is old but its the first google hit on this issue. I still see this behaviour, and its a pita. Agreed with the OP that text should be pasted as given and not chomped.

Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "REPORTED" when replying. Thank you!
I will try to reproduce it this weekend if I can. The bug is stagnant because I sort of stopped using Kopete when Google abandoned GTalk. But hopefully it's still testable regardless of this.

Sorry I didn't get around to testing this. But "resolved, works for me" is that really a good way for a bot to close a ticket? How does a bot know it works? It's not as if the bot tested it... just a thought.
