Version: 1.0.80 (using KDE 4.6.5) OS: Linux Since a few days Kopete is unable to connect to my WLM account, it stucks on "Connecting" although the icon is colorized as connected. I have created a new testing account and although it appeared as "connected", after adding the first contact and reconnecting the same behaviour happens. As for Debian bug report #648080 on package kmess (another WLM client), WLM servers may respond to the contact list petition with a redirect, whih broke that software. As an empty buddy list does not stall Kopete on connecting status, I suspect the cause may be the same. Debian bug on kmess: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=648080 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Connect to any WLM account with at least one contact. Actual Results: Stalls at "Connecting...", does not complete login. Expected Results: Successfully logging in and allow chatting. OS: Linux (i686) release 3.0.0-1-686-pae Compiler: gcc
I have the same problem. OpenSUSE 11.4 KDE 4.7
Same problem here. Fedora 16 (x86_64) KDE 4.7.3 Additional info: I cannot see my contact list, the status of my account remains "connecting", but when I receive emails on that account the standard popup "new email from <address>" is shown on desktop. This means (I think) that connection is estabilished, but for some reason the contact list cannot be downloaded.
another note: my kopete version is 1.1.3 $ kopete --version Qt: 4.8.0 Piattaforma di sviluppo KDE: 4.7.3 (4.7.3) Kopete: 1.1.3 sorry for double post...
Just found bug #285803 reporting the same issue. Sorry for the noise. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 285803 ***
