(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: 1.2.2 (using KDE 2.2.0 alpha2) Severity: normal Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 19991030 (prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.2.17-21mdk OS/Compiler notes: BUG 1: "Enable interval mail checking" checks even when I'm offline (i.e. not connected to the internet). And then if you click Cancel on the password box that pops up it gives you the same password box again! BUG 2: Turn "Enable interval mail checking" on click "Apply". Then turn it off and click "Apply". KMail still checks for my mail regularly -- but I turned the option off! (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog)

If you don't want to enter the password then you should probably not use interval mail checking. KMail doesn't know if you are offline or online or if your server is even reachable when you are offline (for example local account). It simply tries checking but errors are silently ignored. > BUG 2: Turn "Enable interval mail checking" on click "Apply". Then turn > it off and click "Apply". Please note that my email address will be changing in a few days but I will notify bugs.kde.org once that happens. Thanks George

Just following Stephan Kulow's instructions about changing email addresses for bug reports :) Please do not continue sending to baitfish@bigpond.com. My sincere apologies if I am clogging up the kde-bugs mailinglists.
