Description nickpantazis 2011-11-08 10:43:41 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

For new users, and many times even for me, the 'expand toolbar' button (>) that expands the toolbar when not all tools can fit into the view, can very easily be missed. The problems are:
1. Way to small, without text.
2. Aligned to the right end, seems not a part of the toolbar

Suggested solutions:
Make toolbars expand on mouse over them
Or, align it next to others tools, make it have the same volume as the other tools, and put some text to it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Take a look at a toolbar that doesn't fit to space

Expected Results:
For the 'expand toolbar' (>) button to be easily visible.

Won't change sorry.
The behavior (mouse-over effect), is handled by Qt.
We could hack it to expand on over but that would be very annoying.

I don't understand
"2. Aligned to the right end, seems not a part of the toolbar"
if there is toolbar to expand, then the arrow should be next to the last visible item. If not it is an application issue. Anyway, the button position is also handled by Qt (and the application), not by Oxygen.

The only thing we could change is the arrow size.
I'll give it a shot (possibly to make it as big as arrows in menus).
Will keep you posted.

For me, this triangle button, even after years of using kde softwate, is most of the times invisible.
