Description Dotan Cohen 2011-11-06 11:41:02 UTC
Please add an option to integrate the desktop background slideshow with Digikam tags. Often folder organization is not fine-grained enough, hence the introduction of tags in the first place. I suggest both a whitelist (tags allowed) and a blacklist (tags forbidden) approach.

Thank you!

Example of affected photo

The attached photo is an example of a photo that should not be shown in the slideshow. Although a terrific photo, the desktop slideshow (when set to scale and crop) show me only noses and necks! In Digikam I would like to create another version of the image (properly cropped for display on my 16:9 screen) and add a blacklist tag to the original.

Thanks!

Other examples of affected pictures are photos that may be private or bad quality. Due to organizational considerations in Digikam, it is impractical to move these photos out of the folder hierarchy shared by Digikam and the Desktop Slideshow.

Thank you.

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Dotan,

I reopen this file into digiKAm WallPaper section as we have a new plugin to export image to Desktop Wallpaper since digiKam 6.1.0.

This tool is not yet complete, and the feature listed in this file can be implemented in the future...
