it happened just twice afther those two times it launches a different error: can not connect to x server

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

kde is installed alongside with gnome and xcfe, and when i start debian i choose kde from the desktops list and then it begins to load for five seconds and then screen turns black and it returns to the login screen again

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
choose kde from the desktop list at beginning session and then click "login"

Actual Results:
it begins to load kde for five seconds and after that screen turns black and then it returns to the login screen

Expected Results:
load KDE completely

i tried several times to run the command "startkde" with graphics turned off but it does not starts a graphics session at all, it justs gives errors --> can not connect to xserver

The X11 server probably crashes in the video driver when KDE tries to enable 3D compositing. Does /var/log/Xorg.0.log contain information about an error? If unsure, attach that file here.

Same happens for me when I want to start Firefox. KDE returns to login screen and has no mouse pointer. I restart again with CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE. After this restart all works fine.

Feel free to reopen the report if the problem still happens in recent versions ( KDE SC 4.8.4 or higher). Thanks.
