Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2) OS: Linux The package "kde-wallpapers" is around 47 Mb. It is included in every service release. Is it really necessary to include this package ? I know this is rather a personal matter, but I hardly use any of the images included. And even though I have a flatrate, I do not want to download this package every time. Wallpapers can easily be downloaded from the internet. Thanks Peter Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: see details Actual Results: package is downloaded for every service release Expected Results: I believe this package should be excluded.
Please report this problem to the bug tracker of your distribution.
(In reply to comment #1) > Please report this problem to the bug tracker of your distribution. I don't think this will work out, because any distribution will package whatever is provided as an update. So why does KDE include the wallpapers in every service release ? Thanks Peter
There is no such thing as an KDE "update". Every KDE release is complete, and distributions are invited to package it in a way that the user only has to download changes instead of full packages.
apt-mark hold kde-wallpapers kde-wallpapers-default this works for me in Mint :-) In case anyone is looking for a way to block in Ubuntu / or its derivatives which use apt-get.
