If I open a saved mbox file with "kmail view", as it's called in the context menu, or via menu file -> open, it is not possible to press reply or use the menu option since they're greyed out.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open mbox file from disk, try answering

Actual Results:  
Well - nothing.

Expected Results:  
Be able to reply like in former versions

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.37.6-0.7-default
Compiler: gcc

Multi user environments (may) depend on this feature.

Fixed in 4.7.3/master
