Version: svn trunk OS: Linux If you want to edit a text on the canvas , you have to switch to the mouse , because a double click with a stylus actually don't work. But double click with a mouse works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: with a stylus : - select the text tool ( second tool on toolbar ) - trace on canvas a diagonal to set the size of a text box - double click on it to edit edit Actual Results: nothing happen Expected Results: text enter in 'edit mode' ( blinking cursor at the end, as double click with mouse on it do ) Tested on laptop / main computer.
Right...
Is this still valid? Now it should enter into text editing automatically.
I confirm this bug is still on master now. Sorry for late reply.
I was about to file the same bug but it is general about ALL vector shapes: Draw a/some shape, select it; after selecting a shape, it's impossible now to enter edit mode with the stylus. It used to be right-click, but now it opens the pop-up palette... I suggest to bring back the right-click one, or ctrl-click which is useless currently with vector "arrow" tool. (double-click with stylus is a bad shortcut idea anyway, better not try to fix it and find another way). note: I think it's somehow an important/critical bug, as it makes editing shapes with stylus impossible and require mouse-switch everytime
Another note: to speed-up access to edit mode, instead of having to select it first, just using right-click or ctrl-click or whatever we choose as said above, on a shape even not selected would "select it+enter edit mode" in one step. This would be cool.
However, double-click probably will never work: double click with a stylus is just very hard to achieve. But you can always select the shape, then the right tool with the stylus.
The only real problem is the text shape since there is no text tool that activates the text shape anymore. But al the various click-options are really hard to integrate with calligra :-(
going to put this back into krita bugs - because if it stays here in text tool I will close it - using a stylus when editing text does not take priority over being able to double click
I'm afraid that there just isn't a good way to solve this with the current vector shape interaction model.
