Code changed for 3.0. If anyone can reproduce with upcoming 3.0 or current git (not beta1), we'd need a new backtrace.
I am using the kubuntu-ppa version 2.8.0 (with kde 4.9.4): digikam freezes and I have to kill it. The file gets actually saved, but digikam freezes one every three saves (roughly). Workflow gets quite difficult.
As it's annoted in comment #14, problem is fixed in next 3.0.0 release... Gilles Caulier

digiKam 3.5.0 is out. Can you give a fresh feedback about your report ? Crash still reproducible ? Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
I tried again with my installed version (2.5.0), but could not crash it. In the last year since my report I did not observe any crash. Sorry for not giving feedback earlier.
