Description vehemoth 2011-10-29 02:16:43 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

When using plasma-windowed, notifications can't go past the left of the controller window or the top of it. However there doesn't seem to be a limitation of how far down they can go or how far to the right. This means that notifications have to be on the left side and above the bottom of the screen otherwise they might stretch out of the screen.

There should be something in the config panel for notifications that allows you to select a region that notifications will stay in.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Run plasma-windowed notifications. Get a notification to appear and see where you can drag it to.

Actual Results:
Notifications can be placed off of the screen and above docks.

Expected Results:
For there to be a changeable boundary to stop the notifications appearing where you don't want them

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
