Version: 0.13.2 (using KDE 4.7.2) OS: Linux It would be useful to have a user definable label for the bookmark entries instead of the page number. Reproducible: Didn't try Expected Results: When you create a new bookmark you are asked to enter a label. This label is then shown in the bookmark list. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.6-2-desktop Compiler: gcc
You can already rename the bookmarks
Yes, but only in a very unintuitive way. I had to read your message to find the option to do that...
Right click menu -> rename, this is not unintuitive unless you never use the right mouse button, in that case, there's not much we can do.
I rarely use the navigation bar since it takes too much space, doesn't provide much useful information and is ugly as hell. That's why I didn't think about looking for the bookmarks there. If you do a right-click on the bookmark that appears in the normal horizontal menu you don't see any option to rename an entry, nor a "bookmark manager", as one would expect. I think a good way to improve the usability would be to add a bookmark manager entry that opens the navigation bar and selects the bookmark option. Or to popup a window asking for a label when you add a bookmark. What's the point of having a page number as label anyways?
I've just added a way to rename the bookmark from the menu. The point on having the page number as label is because you need a label, and asking for a name for a bookmark name each time is too intrusive, mostly i want to mark one or two pages in a 1000 document, i don't want to bother to give them a name, all i want is adding a mark.
Awesome, thanks.
