Description Craig Magina 2011-10-21 19:44:33 UTC
Version: 1.7 (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

I can open up the wizard just fine and select ssh or webdav, but after entering all of the information and clicking "Save & Connect" I always get a "failed to connect to server" message. To verify it was the "Add Network Folder" wizard, I accessed the remote locations, ownCloud webdav and ssh, via the "Location" bar, i.e. webdav://HOST/owncloud/files/webdav.php and fish://HOST/, without any issues. Dolphin queried me for my credentials and was able to successfully connect.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the "Add Network Folder" wizard
Select either "SSH" or "WebDav"
Enter information
Click "Save & Connect"

Actual Results:
An error message stating that it failed to connect to the server.

Expected Results:
Returning to the Dolphin window and either opening the new connection or showing the new folder entry.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-12-generic
Compiler: gcc

I can reproduce 100% of the time in KDE SC 4.10.1. My server's ssh config only allows key connections and I use multiple keys for different servers. My ssh config file contains all of the rules about which keys to use where. I would expect the sftp kio to use the users ssh config when attempting to connect to a server over ssh. However, when I try to use dolphin I get the error message pictured in the screen shot.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I use a ProxyCommand specified in ~/.ssh/config, but it appears this isn't being read

I am using Version 5.19.5 and this is still happening for both sftp and ssh.

It would be nice to see this fixed as I cannot use dolphin for sftp and fish.

Hans, could you please report a new ticket for 'kio-extras/SFTP' product? Developers might need more information to reproduce the issue.

Christoph,

I have logged Bug 428676 with exact replication steps.
