I can't reproduce, at least not by using Marble (master) under KDE 4.7.2. Perhaps the problem isn't within Marble itself?
Comment 2 Johannes Obermayr 2011-10-25 17:03:14 UTC
Btw. since 4.7.43 -> 4.7.44 (and now on 4.7.45) sometimes there is same behavior like here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245807

Maybe it is related ...

Can you rename ~/.kde/share/config/marblerc and see if Marble behaves normally afterwards? If this helps, I'd be interested in the original (renamed) marblerc file. If it doesn't help, simply rename it back to get your old settings.

buggy mablerc

'mv mablerc mablerc.old' -> problem fixed
'mv mablerc.old mablerc' -> problem occurs again

Thanks for the hint :-)
Comment 5 Dennis Nienhüser 2011-11-02 15:43:25 UTC
It should be related to

[Sun]
centerOnSun=true

Do you remember whether you enabled showing the sun and centering on it yourself? That one disables user input.

We should make it more obvious to the user when sun centering is active. This setting (or rather forgetting that I enabled it) confused me as well several times in the past.
Comment 6 Johannes Obermayr 2011-11-06 18:18:45 UTC
I am sure it was an update problem from 4.7.43 to 4.7.44 because it happened on two x86_64 systems after updating.

Recently I updated 4.7.43 to 4.7.45 on my i586 system without this issue.
