Description Mikiya Okuno 2011-10-18 10:29:32 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

The problem was initially reported on Ubuntu forum.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11360437

Some spaces in the Task Manager are occupied by blank entries. Blanks stick unless the user logs out or the work around is applied.

I hope this bug will be fixed soon, because it detract KDE's great usability.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Configure more than one desktop in the pager or "System Settings" > "Workspace Behavior" > "Virtual Desktops".

2. Configure a window rule in "System Settings" > "Window Behavior" > "Window Rules". For example, let Firefox forced to open on Desktop 2.

3. Switch to the other desktop which is not specified in step 2.

4. Open new windows. (For example, run Firefox several times)

Actual Results:
See the pictures on this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9008046&postcount=1

Expected Results:
Task entries should be arranged neatly.

Workaround:

1. Remove the Task Manager widget from the panel.

2. Add a new Task Manager widget to your panel back.

3. Adjust Task Manager options if you like, because options will be cleared after replacing the Task Manager widget.

That's it! Now you can see the problem is fixed.

Hi Christoph,

I'm sorry for filing a duplicate bug. Since the status of the bug is reopened, I hope it will be fixed soon.

By the way, KDE 4.7 is totally impressive for me. It's really quick. I'm happy with using this great desktop environment.

Cheers,
Mikiya
