Description bugzilla 2011-10-16 13:28:24 UTC
Version: 1.1 (kdegames 4.5) (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: MS Windows

With the standard puzzles all works well: their state is persistent, and I can save them as .puzzle files.

I can create new puzzles and solve them, but I can't keep them between sessions - they disappear. And saving them as .puzzle doesn't work. Sometimes I get an error message (the process for the file protocol died unexpectedly), but more often it silently doesn't save, but closes the save dialog as if it did.

I currently have kdegames 4.5.4 installed, but I have had 4.7.0 too, and the problem occurred there as well.
I have Windows XP SP3 on a Packard Bell dot notebook (Intel Atom).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start Palapeli, click "Create new puzzle", choose a picture, choose either option (jigsaw or rectangular), slider in the middle, 100 pieces, any information.
Then select that puzzle, click "Export to file", accept the default name and location, and click "Save".
Then exit Palapeli and restart it.

Actual Results:
Either I get an error "the process for the file protocol died unexpectedly", or the dialog simply closes. When Palapeli restarts the puzzles aren't in "My collection", and no saved puzzles are in the default location.

Expected Results:
The created puzzle ought to be in My Collection, and a saved version in the default save directory.

I also have a the problem that the KDE help center doesn't show help pages - this is KDE-wide, and probably unrelated.
Either it says "he requested help file could not be parsed:
c:/program files/kde/share/doc/html/en//palapeli/index.docbook", or "The requested operation could not be completed Unexpected Program Termination".
(These messages were cut and pasted, so the
and the // are no typos.)

I no longer have that computer, or any computer with KDE on it, so I cannot give any useful information.

(For some reason I also no longer had a valid account, so I made a new one - but I am the same as bugzilla@in.biep.org)
