Description Thorsteinn A. Malmjursson 2011-10-15 20:37:52 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

First time out using kmail2, i followed the instructions for the migration of kmailrc to the new version. Upon getting kmail2 open after some technical issues involving nepomuk, i discovered that absolutely nothing from the kmailrc had migrated. I had empty folders, no mails, no account settings, nothing. I tried to repeat the process only to be told that:

kmail-migrator(4345) main: Migration of kmailrc has already run, not running it again

The result of this being that I had to completely setup kmail2 from scratch, and I've had to remember all my passwords, account settings, etc in order to do this.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
migrate to kmail2 using kmail-migrator --interactive
if it fails to migrate, try again.
error message shown in the bug above is received

Actual Results:
nothing, migration did not work

Expected Results:
migration to kmail2 should have been completed automatically following the initial step.

I've also been hit by this bug; had Nepomuk problems when it tried to Migrate the first time, and now it's in an unuseable state.

How do I mark it as unmigrated and start over?

I finnally found a way to restart the process. Goto ~/.kde4/share/config/ and remove kmail2rc and kmailmigratorrc. The block was implemented in https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/kdepim-runtime/repository/revisions/60f8c01542f86bd04cafd68b91c2f609d73d4aa2 to prevent corruption to kmailrc2.
