Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.2) OS: Linux The address book was imported from vcf files (old address book from kdepim 4.4). All contacts are displayed properly, but I can't add new information (e.g. new mail address or telephone number) into existing contacts. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create Address Book in Akonadi settings. 2. Import a base of vcf contacts. 3. Change the information about a contact Actual Results: The new information is displayed only about 5-10 seconds and after that it disappears and only old information is displayed Expected Results: The new information should be displayed all the time It seems that kaddressbook creates new file without .vcf extension. For example "4EHBnOUfDv" instead of "4EHBnOUfDv.vcf". The "4EHBnOUfDv.vcf" file remains unchanged. So, 2 files coexist in contacts folder: recently changed "4EHBnOUfDv" and old "4EHBnOUfDv.vcf". kaddressbook seems to read the "4EHBnOUfDv.vcf", so new information is abandoned.
Please inform what type of akonadi resource you use. Using "Personal Contacts" type, I have no problem adding or editing contacts imported from vcf files.
I've changed the name of files from <name>.vcf to <name> and now anything work. Sorry, it seems that I had to close this bug when I found out what to do.
so you had to rename existing vcf files to not include the .vcf extension to get it to work?
Yes.
