Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.2) OS: Linux I have two monitors (1680x1050 + 1280x1024), the smaller one was to the left. My panel is vertical and always as far left as it could be. Now I decided to put the small monitor to the right. I physically moved it, changed the display settings, and moved the panel to the far left of the workspace (now the bigger monitor). When I log out and back in the panel will be placed on the right monitor, but not even there on the left hand side. Moving it to the proper place will only work until I log in next time, then it is at the bogus position again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Not sure, but juggling with multiple monitors (of different size?) may show this. Actual Results: The panel is placed on the smaller (right) monitor. It has an offset from the left of this monitor, something like 200 pixels). The windows that are restored at the left monitor have an offset from the left side that has the proper size of the panel that is not there. Expected Results: The panel should restore where I left it before logout.

Sorry, but my Firefox made some mess and had send attachment to this bug .... Delete please
I have a possibly related problem on KDE 4.7.4. I have two panels, one on the bottom and one at the top of the screen. Both extend to the full width of the screen. This is how I trigger the bug: * I connect a second monitor, extending the desktop to the right. * I disconnect the second monitor again, returning to normal single monitor setup Now, my upper panel pops up in the middle of the screen every time I log in. Every time I log in, I need to put it back on the top of the screen. The only way to resolve the problem is to remove the panel, and add it again. This happens consistently whenever I temporarily connect a second monitor. After the monitor is removed again, my top panel is vertically centered in the middle of the screen, and it cannot be convinced to go anywhere else anymore.

Does the proposed solution in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283974#c6 apply to this one?
At least the panel now is restored at the correct position on login. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 283974 ***
