Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.1) OS: Linux During installation, I could'nt find swiss french layout for my keyboard so I choosed standard french layout. After installation I have installed other layouts and activate swiss french. So now I can write correctly azerty and numerical characters when I'm logged into the system. But from connection screen, it seems to be still the wrong layout. Is that possible? I checked all configuration options but could'nt solve the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Plug a swiss french keyboard ;) Install Ubuntu with standard french keyboard layout. Choose a password containing at least azerty or numerical characters. Login with your wrong keyboard layout ;)) Install missing components for language system. Add swiss french layout from input device configuration. Test if layout is well recognized by writing azerty and numbers. Logout and login. Actual Results: Cannot login because, wrong username/password. You can still login by writing password guessing the characters from previous layout. Expected Results: Login with the layout I actually setted.
Keyboard layout switcher provides the embedded layout switching component (which is already used in screen locker). It needs to be embedded in login manager, so I am reassigning this bug to kdm.
Ok I reconfigured my keyboard with root rights: sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration and now it's all right.
