Description Jim Anderson 2011-10-13 09:47:43 UTC
Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.5)
OS: Linux

Frequently, when entering data, the screen does not update when it should. It is not really that KDE is slow, but it waits to update. Most of the time I have to hit another key or scroll the screen to get a refresh.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:

This happens when editing in vi, when I enter into a form sometimes or sometimes when I scroll my email.

Actual Results:
Nothing special is required. If you have the problem, just doing normal I/O will create the problem. As I said, this occurs when I'm entering data in forms. I have some of my own problems using curses and the problem is even worse there.

Expected Results:
I'm not expecting anything. I just wanted to let you know about the problem. I assume when I get to a newer release, the problem will go away.

"I have some of my own problems using curses and the problem is even
worse there."

should be:

"I have some of my own programs using curses and the problem is even
worse there."

Well, I expericend similar problem 4 or 5 months ago when using terminal emulators under GNOME3(KDE is fine). It was probably a problem caused by video driver and/or kernel.
