Description Evengard 2011-10-08 21:02:21 UTC
Version: 4.7.2 (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

Well, I have dual monitors setup - the first screen is a notebook one, the second - an external one attached via an HDMI-to-DVI cable to the computer.
The forst monitor default resolution (the notebook one) is 1280x800, marked in system settings as "default", the monitor itself is called LVDS1, for the external this is 1680x1050, also marked as "default", called HDMI2
The setup is: HDMI2 absolute position: 0,0; LVDS1 absolute position: 1680,250, default display - HDMI2.
Well, this setup is lost each time I reboot the X server. Instead, it sets the following info:
HDMI2 and LVDS1 are clones of each other, there is no default monitor set, and their both resolution is 1024x768! It looks really weird, and I need to restore the settings each time I log in. The @Save as default values" does not work.
Just a note: exactly the same setup is configured when I check the (always unchecked of course) "Unify outputs" checkbox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install two monitors of the same setup as described.
2. Configure it
3. Save it
4. Restart the X server (or KDM)
5. Watch the result

Actual Results:
The settings are reset to 1024x768 both, positioning is lost

Expected Results:
The settings are the same as before the X server restart
