Description Erik Esterer 2011-10-06 10:37:43 UTC
Version: 2.16 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

If I choose the option "Quick Extract To..." ark opens my default file manager (dolphin) but not the target folder. Instead it opens a wrong folder.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open a archive and choose a destination at "Quick Extract To...": ark starts dolphin with $HOME
Open a archive, extract something via "Extract To...", then (during the same ark session) extract via "Quick Extract To...": ark starts dolphin with the folder chosen at "Extract To...".

Actual Results:
Opens the wrong folder

Expected Results:
To open the target folder

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

It's debatable whether the destination folder should be opened at all when using Quick Extract; bug 188857 is related to that, and I fixed it by not following the Extraction Dialog's settings when it is not used (which is what happens when Quick Extract is used).

I'm tempted to close this bug and point to the commits that fixed to 188857; do you object?

Better late than never :)

I think it would be handy to have the option if ark should open the destination folder or not (which would be a feature request, not a bug), but I'm okay with you closing this bug as it as well.

Thanks for answering back. I've filed bug 298248 for that feature request, and will close this one.
