Created attachment 64202 [details] Error pop-up (KDE notification) Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.1) OS: Linux When I manually click a mail to have it considered spam, KMail tries to move it to a non-existing "pam" folder instead of the existing "Spam" folder it has been instructed to by configuration (see attached screenshot) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Select an email, click button to manually define it as being "spam" Actual Results: Error pops-up telling "Select failed, server replied : A000086 NO mailbox doesn't exist: pam Expected Results: Mail should be moved to local "Spam" folder, per configuration of filter OS: Linux (i686) release 3.0.0-12-generic Compiler: gcc
How do you created this filter ?
The filter was created by the anti-spam wizard of a previous version of Kmail, before upgrading to the current release, and worked perfectly previously. I however checked it today, and re-entered (by selecting it from the dropbox) the folder into which KMail is supposed to move spam. Even after reconfiguring, the problem persists. The folder is called "Spam" (and local) however KMail seems to try to move mail to a folder called "pam" (missing the S) and possibly to the remote server, as far as I can tell from the error msg ?

I don't understand why it doesn't work for you Do you have renamed it ?
No, I haven't renamed anything, and it worked plain good before I upgraded from Ubuntu Natty (KMail 1.x) to Ubuntu Oneiric (Kmail 2). After upgrading this was broken.
Created attachment 64276 [details] Now it does the same for (T)rash ! Now this is more interesting ! Just pressing [Delete] to delete an email this morning, I get the attached pop-up telling that the "rash" folder doesn't exist, obviously missing the "T" for "Trash", as it previously missed the "S" for "Spam" => "pam"...
Same problem here I created the filter using the "Anti-Spam wizard" (Kmail2)
Which anti spam program ? And it try to move to Pam and not Spam ?
For me : - I use bogofilter as anti-spam program, but it's probably irrelevant, because it's applying manually "classify this email as spam", that has a rule "move to Spam folder", and that rule causes the error box to appear. - However the message is actually moved to the correct folder, so the bug is with the error message, not with the actual result (as it seems). => As a side note, I see KMail 2 cause a lot of "incorrect error messages". On my wife's machine, KMail very often spits error messages that it "cannot modify email in folder" for whatever reason, however the actual results (mark as read, or unread, or important, or move to another folder) are always correct. So KMail is bugging us with buggy errors where it actually works. Your mileage may vary, but that's mine.
Still unfixed. The complete "move to folder" system in Kmail is completely broken - seen on every machine I configured KMail, either IMAP or POP. Using the "Spam filtering rules" creted by the assistant (or manually) is broke, results in buggy messages being displayed, etc. I can't believe this doesn't seem to be taken into consideration and fixed. i.e. I myself don't quit KMail because I've been using it for 10 years and love it, but I know 3 people that have already quit using Kmail in favor of Thunderbird just because of all these bugs in the latest version (and corresponding Kubuntu Oneiric). So please wake up guys !
Up ! Unfixed ! Xtremely annoying !
Hej, can you attach your akonadi_mailfilter_agentrc here, please? Ciao, Tobias
