Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.1) OS: Linux I am using google imap and I have roughly 40 Folders including subfolders which should synced periodically every 7min. This procedure often simply stops working and after stopping it will not do it until manually syncing with a click. This happens more or less every day. I observed this behavior since the switch to KDE-4.7. With the old kmail I never have observed this behavior. For this reason I have always a web-gmail open, in order to get aware of new emails. Could this be related to the large amount of folders? Because syncing this many folders needs time and if it is not ready with the old sync and the new one gets triggered it ceased to work? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Nothing to reproduce, it simply happens every day. Expected Results: kmail should properly sync my google-imap-account.
Same problem here, I'm using kde 4.7.2 and I'm syncing 5 gmail folders. I set the refresh rate individually for each folder but they sometimes don't get synced.
Created attachment 66234 [details] gmail imap folder set to sync every 5 minutes - sorry for the german language but you should get the idea
After facing this bug for some weeks now, here's an update: I'm suspending my laptop to ram every day, the syncing might stop at that point. After waking it up and manually syncing again kmail still doesn't sync the folders. Also I have server side subscriptions activated (maybe that's useful). And I'm using KDE 4.7.4 now.
Sorry, but meanwhile I have switched to thunderbird. The whole kmail/akonadi-stuff is in my point of view not really stable. Recently my wife and daughter have switched from KDE 3.7.0 to 3.7.4 and akonadi was not able to transfer the akonadi-data and all accounts have to be reentered. So, they also switched to thunderbird which really works pretty smooth and much faster syncing. I do not have had any problem at all! Sorry, not the subject here, but it should be mentioned. May be I come back if akonadi/kmail is really mature. Again, sorry, but I am really disappointed about kmail!
I'm using KDE 4.8.x for a while now and haven't seen this problem any more. Of course you never know with this kind of bugs but chances are that it has been resolved. And since I seem to be the only one left who had this problem and still uses kmail I'll close this bug.
