Screenshot of the problem

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

I am currently using KDE 4.7.1 "release 8" installed from openSUSE repository download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/47/openSUSE_11.4/ (x86_64).

Since my screen in 1366x768, I have set up two vertical panels on the left and right border of the desktop.
On login, the right panel is correctly placed, while the left panel is 33 pixels away from the desktop border, as you can see in the attached screenshot. It is automatically placed on the left border if I change the screen size (as happens when I switch to an 1920x1200 external monitor) or if I go to Panel settings and then I move a bit the screen edge.
If I log out and then login again, the left panel returns as in the screenshot.

My problem seems to be similar to the one in bugs #271468 and #280370 but it is not as the former since I tried to delete plasma-desktop-appletsrc and then configured again the desktop as in the screenshot but the problem is still here; it is not as the latter since the panel does not move to the right edge but remain in the middle of the desktop. Moreover, if I open a window and I maximize it, it goes under the panel but it does not reach the left edge but stops as the panel is in the right position.

The interesting thing is that if I move the left panel to the bottom, logout and login again, it is correctly placed on the bottom of the screen; if I move it again to the left edge, the problem occurs again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Move the panel to the left edge
2. Logout
3. Login

Actual Results:
The panel is not at the left edge but across the desktop.

Expected Results:
The panel remains in the left edge as happens for other edges.
