Version: 2.4-snapshots (using KDE 4.6.5) OS: Linux At the moment, the only way to clear the selection (as far as I can tell) is with a hotkey or from the menu. Clicking on the canvas should also do it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Select an area with the rectangle tool. Click on the canvas. Actual Results: The selection remains there. Expected Results: The selection box should go away.
Hi Elbarto, Thanks for your report. I'm not totally sure about whether this is a good or not, though. Maybe only if the selection tool mode is "replace selection". I think we also need to think about shared shortcuts for those modes for our selection tools, maybe even think deeper about usability for selection tool. I'm making this a usability bug accordingly. I cannot promise that we will fix this issue for 2.4, though.
