Description George R. Goffe 2011-09-23 09:38:19 UTC
Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

Resize of xterms obeys the kde settings. In my case it's maximize verticle. After double clicking on the title bar and successfully resizing the xterm, a subsequent double click fails to return the xterm to it's original size.

Using the maximize button at the top right of the title bar exhibits the same behavior.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Double click on title bar or poke the maximize button to maximize the xterm.
Double click again to return to original size. Failure to do so.

This is probably fixed in KDE 4.7.1, could you check?

Thanks for your response and info. I would love to check this!

How can I do it?

Let's ask kwin maintainers which version fixes it (works here in master).

fixed about half a year ago for 4.7

as a temp. workaround you can setup a window rule for xterm to ignore the geometry hints (this will allow full maximization) - other than this, just upgrade KDE (how to do this deps. on your distribution)

Thomas,

Thank you for your response.

My distribution is Fedora Core 14 currently.

I meant: "you'll have to ask there" - or find a fedora fellow who can tell you ;-)

But i think they use a rolling release model, so there should be no problem in upgrading KDE at all.
