i do also experience this on kubuntu 11.10 and it did not happen on kubuntu 11.04. i have an elgato dtt dvb-t usb stick:

[17768.717454] dvb-usb: found a 'Elgato EyeTV DTT' in warm state.
[17768.717527] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.

[17769.155241] Registered IR keymap rc-dib0700-rc5
[17769.155369] input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-1/rc/rc8/input31
[17769.155402] rc8: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-1/rc/rc8
[17769.155606] dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 50 msecs.
[17769.155610] dvb-usb: Elgato EyeTV DTT successfully initialized and connected.

in addition it does not happen with
mplayer dvb://
with an appropriate ~/.mplayer/channels.conf

so it seems to be kaffeine specific

This bug is too old, for a version < 1.3. Closing it, as the latest version is 2.0.1, and lots of things changed since version 1.2.x, including the usage of VLC as video display backend, support for DVB-T2 and ISDB-T via libVLC, etc.

You may check on the upstream version and see if the bug was solved. The README file contains instructions about how to compile it. You can find it at our git repository:

https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kaffeine.git

If you find similar issues with version 2.0.1, please re-open.
