Description Malte 2011-09-09 10:15:29 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

If there is a problem when accessing a POP3 server, Akonadi shows a big error message on the screen. In my mind this causes some clutter on the desktop and you have to grab the mouse every time and click the message away. This can be annoying if a POP3 server like Yahoo often has trouble. It would be nicer if Akonadi messages appeared in the KDE system tray as a KDE system notification.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Start KMail, fetch email from pop3 and when your pop3 server has trouble, Akonadi shows an error message on the desktop.

Expected Results:
It would be nice if Akonadi showed error messages in the KDE system tray as a KDE system notification. This is cleaner, less intrusive and causes less clutter on the desktop.
