Description Saulo Toledo 2011-09-08 04:15:07 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

At schools I could go, and even at home for my nephews I saw a problem with KDE wallpapers list: some of them are adult content.

At brazilian government, for example, there are a Linux distribution called "Educational Linux", who is used on all public schools laboratories. For now, it's KDE3 based, but will need upgrades soon... In home I don't need talk so much about too...

The problem is: there are easy adult content between nature, animal, abstract and other wallpapers. If I navigate in my wallpapers I will find them easy.

Here are some examples:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Nude+-+swimming+wallpaper?content=143553
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Sexy+Bellucci+Linux?content=14464
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Dreaming?content=144722
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Grace+KDE?content=143015

In some countries and religions, this can be a moral invasion, and even wallpapers like this one can be censored:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/ElishaBG?content=12092

Since Free Software is for all, their content can't invade their moral boundaries, religious, or any other.

My question here isn't remove them, but hide them easy ways of acquirement, like desktop tool! Adult content need be optional and intentional, and not so easy like it's happening with KDE. The suggestion is hide them, or at least protect their appear in some way.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Try change your wallpaper
2) Choose "Get new wallpapers"
3) Find some, you will see some of the listed wallpapers or some others.

Actual Results:
There are easy adult content.

Expected Results:
No easy adult content.

As far as I can see, the four offending wallpapers have been removed. In the future, please report offending content directly to the site kde-look.org.

Really, was removed since I directed this report to KDE-Look website contacts. Anyway, this is not the final solution, more content will come! And that wallpapers isn't real law problems.

It's needed some way to filter content, and if the website provide some content filtering this need be implemented at plasma plugin.

I vote to don't close this report, isn't solved! KDE is a content provider, then it's indirectly responsible for it. I understood kde-look must provide ways to filter content, but we must demand the change, or will be ignored. And since that the support is released, need be implemented at KDE's code!

I still beleaving: the final solution it's add a required radio box at send content form with something like:

My content:
( ) has people characters in sensual positions and can be against political or religious reasons (or related)
( ) don't have people characters in sensual positions and can be against political or religious reasons (or related)

It's opendesktop.org's problem? Yes! But when they do the work, must be implemented on KDE some way to do this. Then, some work need be done. The report need be opened.
