Description Saulo Toledo 2011-09-08 03:54:06 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

Some kde-look wallpapers, when I download from Plasma Desktop Shell, are in HTML format (in reality, they are links for author's website). But If I confirm their installation, they will never work! I saw a lot of users with problems: they install the wallpaper, confirm the question and ask "where is the wallpaper I've downloaded? This software has a bug".

If They don't work, why they are listed at Plasma list?

I vote to simple remove them from the list.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Open the desktop wallpaper management (Right click on desktop -> Configurations...)
2) Download some wallpapers, some of them will show some message because they aren't images
3) Install some of this wallpapers and see they aren't at wallpapers list.

Actual Results:
Garbage on wallpapers folder at .kde directory on user home, and no wallpapers.

Expected Results:
No downloads who don't work...

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
