amarok output

Version:           4.7.0 (using Devel)
OS:                MS Windows

Trying to "Configure Phonon" crashes amarok EVERY time.
I even tried to "emerge -i vlc" but that did not help either.(Before that, there wasn´t even any library/anything that was related to vlc in the bin folder, and afaik under windows, vlc ist supposed to be used as a backend)

Firstly, amarok should handle the unloadable phonon library(not crash)
Secondly, the phonon library shouldnt be missing in the first place(blaming emerge here?)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge amarok && amarok
2.Click: Settings-Configure Amarok-Playback-"Configure Phonon"

Actual Results:
Crash (Retries loading phonon library until its STACK OVERFLOWs)
See attached output file.

Expected Results:
configure window opening

Still valid with Amarok 2.5, KDE 4.8.0 and Windows 7. Fresh install.
Comment 2 Patrick Spendrin 2012-02-22 22:24:59 UTC
This happens if either no phonon plugin exists or the phonon plugin fails to load (because e.g. vlc is not installed). As written above, this should be handled gracefully instead.
