Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux Running OpenSuse 11.4, KDE 4.6.0, Kmail Version 1.13.6 "Address Book" allows creation of a "New Group". After a list of email addresses has been entered and the entry completed, the initial indication is that the email addresses are applied (entered into the database) appropriately. However, moments later ALL entries disappear and the email address field becomes blank. Attempting to use the newly created group in a "send" results in a single address of groupname@hostname - which, of course is worthless. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Create a new contact; enter email addresses in the appropriate field(s); close the window; Actual Results: Observe that all entries appear in the window - as if everything is O.K.; then observe that all entries "disappear"; attempt to use the new "group" and observe that there are NO valid email addresses Expected Results: All entries in a newly created group are properly added to the group contact database. Use of the group in a "send" results in all addressees being emailed. Tried MANY times - using different names, addresses, etc. Always failed in the same way.
Step to reproduce should start with: Create a new group, create contacts, close the window.
Confirmed this occurs in version 4.4.10 of KAddressBook (also using KMail 1.13.6). This has been here for quite a few versions for me.
Please reopen if you still experience this problem using KDE 4.7 or greater
Thanks! I'll check it out as soon as I upgrade to 4.7.
Still present in 4.9.3
I think this is the same problem has here: Bug 223034
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kaddressbook (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Checked it in kmail5 16.08.01. Problem does not exist anymore.
