Description Vincent Tassy 2011-08-25 09:47:05 UTC
Version: 1.9.0 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

It would be nice to be able to extract for example the first frame of video files and use that as the thumbnail for the item in the Album GUI instead of the generic movie icon.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Import some videos in your collection

Actual Results:
Videos are represented with the default movie icon

Expected Results:
Have a frame of the video actually used as the thumbnail for the item

Brilliant !
Thanks Gilles !

For info, on Fedora this is hidden in the kdemultimedia-extras-freeworld package

digiKam 5.4.0 will have a video thumbnailer based on QtAV framework. We do not
use KDE video thumbnailer anymore...
