Description ojrajala 2011-08-23 00:23:08 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

When listening to music in Amarok 2.4.3 and panning map with mouse so that it starts to fetch new data from server, music gets slightly distorted and garbled. Phonon backend is GStreamer 4.5.1.
Verified that problem is in Marble by trying SMPlayer which reproduced problem and then by panning picture in Gwenview while listening to Amarok, which didn't reproduce problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- start playing music in KDE, seemingly in any application
- pan map in Mable by grabbing with mouse

Actual Results:
- audio gets slightly garbled

Expected Results:
- audio should play as normal

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0-CHAKRA
Compiler: gcc

Sounds like your sound hardware gets easily influenced by radio waves of your other hardware components (e.g. the CPU).

The fact that Gwenview doesn't expose the problem is probably just related to the fact that moving a map (especially in globe projection) requires a lot more resources than simply panning a photo in Gwenview.

Do you have pulseaudio installed? Is your hard disk drive (HDD) very busy when panning? Then pulseaudio seems to choke on your HDD being too busy.
