Description Jorg K 2011-08-19 16:28:51 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

I have this weird behaviour. I put my PC to sleep and when it comes back, it displays a logon panel where I need to enter my password.

The password field is empty. When I type the first character of the password, a "fat dot" appears hiding the character I typed. And then something funny happens. More dots appear, although I am not typing anything else. I have to wait, then select all the dots, so I get an empty field again, then type the password.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Put system to sleep. Wake it up. Funny input appears in the logon panel after the first character is typed.

Actual Results:
see above.

Expected Results:
I should just see one "fat dot" for every character I type, not some phantom characters appearing.

Seeing is believing. This video shows the problem. I typed one character and then it went funny.

Sorry about the English: "fat dot" should read "bullet".

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
