Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.0) OS: Linux Using DIMAP, when looking at the contents of a certain folder, mails are listed. Some mails are actually in other folders on the IMAP server Mails are randomly distributed in IMAP folders. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: (Does not happen in all folders) - Open a folder. (In my example, a folder where I keep the mailinglist kolab-users) Actual Results: The folder lists mails (e.g. from kolab-users), but also lists mails that are in another folder. (e.g. Launchpad bugs) When looking in the folder containing Launchpad bugs, these mails are missing. It looks like the mails are moved. Expected Results: The content listing of a folder should be correct. Only mails that are in that folder should be shown. Note that looking at the IMAP server with another mail client does list the correct contents. When rebooting, mails can sometimes return to their correct folders, but other mails get thrown in the wrong folders. I'm only talking about displaying the contents. It is possible to open those mails. During mail fetching, you can see mails arrive. When wathcing mail arrive in certain folders, often the wrong mails can be seen temporarily. I'm setting this to major. There is no data loss, but there is perceived data loss. Data can't be found in its expected place. Nepomuk+virtuoso are active. Strigi is not.

Isn't this caused by filters moving mails into wrong directory? Please verify your filters.
No, I'm not using KMail filters. They are currently broken, but that's another bug. It is a fresh intstallation and there were never filters present. Keep in mind the mails /are not/ in the wrong folders when looking at them with another mail client! KMail only shows them in folders where they do not belong (and doesn't where they belong).
I'd suggest the same, enable the imap logging and select the involved folders to see if it is the imap communication that has a bug or KMail displaying it. Please also check your folders in akonadiconsole, Browser tab if they show the right mails or not (akonadiconsole is slow showing the mails, so please have patience).
I'm sorry here too. This bug was bothering me during the first import of a whole lot of mail. I didn't notice any wrongly placed mail after the update to 4.8.
Ok, might have been a migrating issue. Please reopen the report if you see the bug again.
