Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.0) OS: Linux At startup kmail checks for new emails (POP3 account) and applies all the filters on the new messages. I have many filters which move the messages in appropriate folders. After the filtering process, what happens is that the moved messages are present in two locations (the destination and inbox folders). I need to manually issue an "Update folder" command on the inbox to solve the strange behaviour. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: start kmail using kontact and download new messages Actual Results: apparent duplication of emails Expected Results: the messages should only be visible in the destination folder
Hej Fabio, works fine here, sounds more like your system is somehow messed up. Can you try with a clean setup? Ciao, Tobias
The problem is that the issue is not reproducible but happens randomly. Right now I'm using kmail 4.7.1, I'll post here news if I see again the problem.
I have just noticed that the issue happens when there are two new incoming messages which are supposed to be moved in the same destination folder by the filtering action. In the attached images you can see the same email in two folders. In the destination folder there are two new messages filtered from the inbox, one of them (the older one) is no more visible in the inbox but the other is still visible. After restarting kontact (and so kmail) the message in the inbox is no more visible (as expected).
