Description Dotan Cohen 2011-08-02 20:06:29 UTC
The "Auto Rename" feature of the copy/move dialogue is undiscoverable in it's current implementation. The button which performs the "Auto Rename" function is labeled "Rename", which gives no indication that the new name will be automatically generated. Furthermore, the button is only activated once the "Apply to all" box is checked, which then deactivates the "Suggest New Name" button.

I suggest eliminating the separate "Rename" button and combining it's function with the "Suggest New Name" button. Upon selecting "Apply to all" the "Suggest New Name" button would then be relabeled to "Auto Rename".

Thanks.

Hi,

After looking at fixing this there are some things you missed.
'Rename' cannot be removed as it is used to confirm changes to the file name that the user made himself or by using 'Suggest New Name'

We could change from 'Rename' to 'Auto Rename' if 'Apply All' is used. Another option is to add a tooltip.

In Plasma 5, the button says "Suggest new name".
