Version: git-latest (using KDE 4.7.0) OS: Linux skype contacts do not have proper icons Reproducible: Always Expected Results: Skype should have nice icons. Kopete has some, they could be used. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-7-generic Compiler: gcc
What does that exactly mean? Skype contacts does not have avatars? Or the presence icons are wrong? Or we're missing a Skype icon for the account (in System Settings when setting account)?
It means a Skype icon for the account in System settings is missing and that there are no Skype presence icons.
The skype icon in the accounts kcm exists and is installed by default. Presence icons are common for all protocols. We do not plan to have protocol-specific presence icons or emoticons.
Actually it doesn't appear in the accounts-kcm, but it should. Needs a .profile file as it has an unusual protocol name. Fixing.
@Georg: As soon as you have meta-contacts it will necessary to have different presence icons per account type. And why not? Those icons exist in Kopete and cold be just copied.
Not really, all we need is a skype account icon (shipped and installed) and a presence icon. And why not - because if we'd have done this for skype, we'd also have to do it for all other networks. That kind of defies the generalization Telepathy is about. Sorry, closing as wontfix. Dave - please add a "CCBUG: 279157" to the commit message with the .profile for skype.
