Description Ken Jarvis 2011-07-26 08:59:14 UTC
Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

When processing .jpg or raw file, the sharping tool takes a very long time to sharpen the picture. All three modes for sharpening are very slow to process. When using the "try it" button, the processing is the same as selecting the "OK" button to finish the task. An 8 mPX .jpg picture took 78 sec. at 50% focus on Simple Sharpen. Then when I selected "OK" another 75 sec. to reprocess the same focus setting to the picture.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Have picture in the editor.
Select the Sharpen tool.
Wait for processing.
make adjustments
wait for processing
when done, select OK
wait for processing

Actual Results:
the procedure above will take 4 to 8 minutes to complete if your making adjustments.

Expected Results:
Expected "on-the-fly" process and results for try it button and any minor adjustment needed. The "OK" button should be the slow one to actually process the picture.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.38-10-generic
Compiler: cc

HP Pavilion a1253w desktop computer
3 gigs ram
AMD Athlon 64 processor
