Version: unspecified (using KDE 1.2) OS: Linux looking for a bar in ireland? you should enter 'pub' if you you want far more results. but what other types of poi's can i search for? a drop down list of acceptable poi keywords would be very useful. Reproducible: Didn't try Actual Results: have to guess poi keywords Expected Results: list of acceptable poi keywords should be displayed somehow
I plan to work on a category grid view or similar to select POI categories in a simple way.
sounds good. i see on the openstreetmap website http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Nominatim/Special_Phrases/EN that there are hundreds of different types of poi. if the data actually exists in the downloadable maps, would it be possible to create a dialog to select some of these types and for the user to add it to the grid along with the default set that you'll be implementing? this would be a unique feature for marble , as most gps apps only allow you to select the 'usual suspects' of poi's. if this could be done, then people could search for 'fountains' or 'windmills' or whatever their tourist/hobby niche interest is. ----- Original message ----- > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278519 > > > Dennis Nienhüser <earthwings@gentoo.org> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW > CC| |earthwings@gentoo.org > Ever Confirmed|0 |1 > > > > > --- Comment #1 from Dennis Nienhüser <earthwings gentoo org> 2011-07-26 > 22:18:27 --- I plan to work on a category grid view or similar to select > POI categories in a simple way. > > -- > Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug.
apologies for the 'original message' junk in the reply above.
Created attachment 62228 [details] screenshot of OSM2go on maemo5
a bit presumtive, but have uploaded a screenshot of OSM2go on maemo which has a nice dialog for fine grained poi selection as an example, in case you think the idea is worthwhile.
