Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux The dropdown field in system notifications configuration dialog lists the Descriptions of the respective component. This leads to things like "Notifications for KDE Power Management system" or "Notifications triggered by hardware devices" or "KWin Window Manager". Those are "doubled" things and would confuse a normal user. Using the Name would change those to e.g. "Power Management System" (powerdevil.notifyrc) which is much better. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: .
Nope, I tried it, there are more strings that we would have to fix this way. For those Descriptions that add the "Notifications for ..." text should be fixed instead.
Hm, but having "Power Management" is also better than "KDE Power Management" et al. So I think this needs discussion on the Mailinglist that all the notifications titles/descriptions need to drop that "KDE blabla" so we just have "low space warning" and "Power Management" and "Window Manager" etc
"KWin Window Manager" sounds just right. Compiz doesn't emit notifications configured here. Same for power management. If the user is running GNOME, but starts System Settings to configure notifications for some KDE applications, it should be clear that certain settings only affect KDE components.
Fixed in your glorious rewrite for Plasma 5.16! :)
