Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux KSnapshot should provide an option to optimize PNG screenshots using OptiPNG if optipng is installed. Lightscreen (a Qt-only app currently distributed only for Windows but compilable on Linux as well) provides for this and it is tremendously useful for me! I would like my favourite desktop environment's standard snapshot utility have this feature as well! BTW only today I came to know about KGrab. I don't understand why they forked it. Is it really a problem to add options to KSnapshot (in which case I should take this bug to KGrab but I don't want to as it seems not to be developed right now)? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: (This is silly -- how to "reproduce" a wishlist bug? the bugzilla interface needs an upgrade. Ah well...) Call KSnapshot by menu or PrtSc key. Look for an option to optimize PNG screenshots. Actual Results: I find no option to optimize PNG screenshots. Expected Results: KSnapshot should give me an option to optimize PNG screenshots. If OptiPNG is not installed, the option may be grayed out.
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. Spectacle is the replacement for ksnapshot now. Please test again and file a new bug for Spectacle if you still have issues. Thank you!
