Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux With grid desktop enabled, every time I move my mouse over a plasmoid to bring up its toolbar pop-out, two separate overlapping toolbars are displayed. One toolbar (call it A) always has only a wrench icon and a close icon and usually appears on top. The other toolbar (call it B), has resize, rotate, wrench, and close icons and usually appears underneath A. If I move the plasmoid using toolbar A, the grid desktop layout takes effect and the plasmoid will snap (or slide) into its final position, as expected. If I move it using toolbar B, grid desktop is ignored causing the movement to behave like the standard desktop containment. Occasionally, I can get toolbars A and B to appear on either side of a plasmoid simultaneously. Please see the attached screencast. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: * Set plasma desktop layout to Grid Desktop * Open a plasmoid on the desktop * Move mouse over plasmoid Actual Results: Two toolbars appear. Expected Results: Only one toolbar should appear. KDE 4.7 RC1 from Arch Linux [kde-unstable] repo; Nvidia GeForce GT 430 w/ 275.09.07 driver.
Ok, my attachment was probably too big. Here's a Dropbox short url to the OGV video: http://db.tt/CJorsFb This should illustrate the problem quite well.
Also present in 4.7 RC2.
It happens to me as well. I had two screens one with a grid desktop and the other with normal desktop settings. Anyway, after setting both of them to grid desktop, both toolbars are displayed. kde 4.7-rc2
The same happens in Fedora 16 KDE spin. KDE 4.7.3 (4.7.3)
Confirmed on Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4.8.2.

I can confirm this bug (KDE 4.8.3, Archlinux).
I can confirm on 4.11 openSUSE x64
Confirmed on 4.11.9 Gentoo Linux.
Is this bug still relevant? Grid desktop seems to have been removed in plasma 5.x. If there are no plans to bring it back, we might as well close this.
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
